GAZA, (PIC)— Director of the
mental health program in the Gaza Strip Fadel Abu Hein said Saturday
that more than 100,000 Palestinian children were traumatized as a
result of the Israeli war on Gaza, pointing out that the magnitude of
this problem is bigger than the capacity of health institutions.
Abu Hein told Al-Alam satellite channel about some of the symptoms
that appeared in the attitude of Gaza children such as their fear to
sleep alone or go outdoors without their parents, bedwetting, mood
disorders or sudden bouts of anger especially in children who used to
be calm before the war.
The health official pointed to the impact of the mental health of
children on the social fabric which needs stability and calm as well as
to the difficulty of dealing with this problem because of the
complicated and tough experiences witnessed by Gaza children.
